How It's Calculated
Volumetric weight = (length × width × height) ÷ divisor. Chargeable weight is whichever is greater: actual weight or volumetric weight.
Real Example
Example: a 60×40×40 cm, 10 kg package with divisor 6000 → volumetric weight = 96,000/6,000 = 16 kg. Since actual weight (10 kg) is lower, the chargeable weight is 16 kg.
Notes & Limitations
The divisor varies by carrier (air freight commonly uses 5000, couriers commonly use 6000) — confirm the one your carrier applies when getting a quote.
