Cash Against Documents (D/P)
A documentary collection method where the importer's bank releases shipping documents to the buyer only after the buyer pays in full — also called Documents against Payment (D/P).
Example
Under cash against documents, the buyer cannot take possession of the goods at the port until the payment has cleared.
